The heart of humanity

Sitting in the train, I hear a child cry.

Strongly. Persistently. And while it is a quite loud cry, it makes me happy at the same time. For the child. The parents. Even for us co-passengers. Since this crying child has – obviously!! – enough power to clearly state its desires (and having this desire met quite soon, most probably).

Listening to this child’s cry, I can’t help but think of and feel the starving children in Gaza.

Children thin as bones.
Children closer to death than to life.
Children held by mothers not strong enough to even carry their weight of a feather.

And my heart is breaking 💔

When children stop crying, saving their life forces for breathing.
When children ask their parents when they’ll be in heaven, finally. And if heaven will provide enough food for everyone.

When mothers have to decide which one of their children they’ll be feeding today (and if at all…)
When people can either stay and starve – or risk to get killed while waiting in the line for food…

Then the heart of humanity is dying too 😔
